GM First in 2004 AOI Visitation

In 2004, General Motors Corporation was the auto manufacturer most frequently visiting the Auto on Info web pages monitored by AOI's statistical service, registering 214 visitations and 438 page views. The Auto on Info news article most frequently visited by General Motors appears to have been "General Motors Quality Drops Again," May 2004.
Ford Motor Company was the second-most frequently visiting auto manufacturer. Its 2004 visitations of the pages monitored totaled 80 and its 2004 page views - 156.
Chrysler Motors Corporation and DaimlerChrysler AG tied for third place with 9 visitations each. The page views for the Chrysler Group and the parent DaimlerChrysler were insufficient to place either within the top 600 service providers, the statistical service's threshold for data retention.
No other auto manufacturer had sufficient visitations or page views to be within the top 600 service providers.
As only a very small percentage of AOI's pages were monitored in 2004, any estimate of the total number of Auto on Info visitations or page views by GM, Ford, the Chrysler Group, or DaimlerChrysler would be very speculative.
Since shortly after onset of the Auto on Info website in 2001, the website policy of Auto on Info has been to encourage auto manufacturers to provide corrections, comments, or criticisms should they find any mistakes or inaccuracies or deem any qualifications appropriate and to provide a link to a web page of any auto manufacturer taking issue with any statement on an AOI web page, when requested by the auto manufacturer. (See Website Policy Statements.) To date, no correction, comment, or criticism has been received and no link has been requested.
