Rating the Possible Explanations as to Why the Big Three Have No Evident Need to Improve the Relative Reliabilities of Their Autos

Background

The April 2002 Auto on Info News, Analysis and Editorial article entitled "No Need to Compete: More Data Point to a Big Three Market Share That Is Well Insulated from the Rigors of Competition" discusses data pointing to an absence of need by the Big Three (Chrysler-Ford-General Motors) to improve the relative reliabilities of their motor vehicles. This mini-survey permits the visitor to rate the possible explanations for the absence of this need.

Preference for repetitive behavior, especially in the bottom half of the U.S. population

Absence of mingling and communication between groups, especially adult groups, of significantly differing intelligence

Differences in experiences between a Reliable Two owner and a Big Three owner that are so great as to prevent communication
